QS Certificator demonstrates the company policy of applying and adhering to optimal stringent safety and quality measures in producing and placing on the market its zinc oxide for use as trace element in feed additives and premixes.

FAMI-QS is a derivative of European Feed Additives and Premixtures Quality System. In August 2004 FEFANA (the European Federation of Animal Additives Manufacturers) finalized the FAMI-QS Code of Practice for Feed Additive and Premixture Operators (as defined in Regulation 1831/2003/EC on additives for use in animal nutrition). This code is a public document from which its content can be freely followed by any feed additive or premixture operator. A parallel and independent certification system has been developed by FAMI-QS Asbl.

FAMI-QS certification aims to ensure the safety of feed additives and premixtures, the harmonization in the EU of feed hygiene requirements, and improve traceability. FAMI-QS Guide integrates the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) concept, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001 requirements.

In May 2006 FAMI-QS has signed an agreement with OVOCOM (Belgium) and PDV (The Netherlands) for mutual recognition between FAMI-QS and PDV regarding their schemes.
